Jenny grew up in the local Bellevue area and received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Washington. Jenny continued on to earn her Chemical Dependency Professional certification through the Alcohol and Drug Counseling program at Bellevue College and then received her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University.
Jenny has experience working with family members and loved ones of individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Jenny understands that addiction is a disease that impacts the entire family and that recovery is also a family matter. Jenny developed Hotel California by the Sea’s Family Program to help educate our client’s family members about the disease of addiction and to cultivate healing and to support the reunification process among families.
Prior to her role at Hotel California by the Sea Bellevue, Jenny worked in an all-encompassing transitional housing program designed to help individuals, with a history of addiction, abuse and the legal system, be able to step out of homelessness and back into the community. Jenny is passionate about using Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to assist clients in realigning their long-term goals as well as teaching practical relapse prevention skills. In her free time, Jenny enjoys playing and watching sports, spending time with her loved ones and participating in her church and recovery community.
