In 2017, Jon Schlenske joined the Hotel California by the Sea family as our Director of Operations in the State of Washington. Jon’s dynamic combination of behavioral health knowledge, training, and experience as a licensed Chemical Dependency Professional for more than a decade, along with his genuine, caring, and warm-hearted nature, have truly made him an invaluable rock for our employees and clients alike.
Jon has almost 15 years of experience as a CEO and Clinical Director of an addiction treatment facility in Washington and has been involved in providing treatment to over 30,000 individuals suffering from the disease of addiction, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions at all levels of care (detoxification, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient).
In 2011, Jon earned his Master’s Degree in Addiction Studies at the University of South Dakota School of Behavioral Sciences. In 2006, Jon earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington.
As a passionate and knowledgeable advocate for the treatment of addiction and behavioral health conditions, Jon is a proud member of the following professional organizations:  Associate Member: American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and the ASAM Chapter for the State of Washington;  Professional Member: National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and the NAADAC Chapter for Chemical Dependency Professionals of Washington State; and,  Member: National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Jon lives in Kirkland with his lovely and supportive wife Jennifer, along with their two young sons. Jon’s wife shares his genuine, caring, warm-hearted nature, and she previously served as the executive director of the largest non-profit in Spokane Valley. As the parents of a child with special needs, Jon and Jennifer are very active advocates in the community and are always finding ways to turn rain into sunshine.
