Psychoeducation

Psychoeducational therapy is a process that helps clients in our program begin to share information pertaining directly to their addiction or co-occurring disorders.  It serves an educational type of therapy that allows the client and therapist to identify some of the root causes of their struggles, allowing the individual to become more informed about the nature of their addiction.

With this information at hand, the client is given an increased ability to gain empowerment over the disease they once had no power against. Understanding addiction on a deeper level also helps individuals to become educated on the attributes of relapse, and more aware of the effect their disease has on not only themselves, but loved ones and family as well.

The goal with this type of therapy at Hotel California – Bellevue is to help individual clients understand more about their disease in order to transfer that knowledge or understanding to sustaining long-term sobriety.
