Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment
Quite commonly the abuse of alcohol or substances begins with the self-medicating of underlying psychological issues or experiences that a person does not know how to effectively cope with. Depression, anxiety, PTSD and bi-polar disorder are common psychological disorders associated with chemical dependency and/or substance abuse. To address the vicious cycle of co-occurring disorders coupled with addiction and the havoc both can play on a person’s life, Hotel California by the Sea Bellevue takes a comprehensive clinical and therapeutic approach to treating one’s addiction and their co-occurring/underlying issues.
Through an initial assessment, we are able to take a further look into the many psychological struggles an individual may be experiencing. A client is then paired with a primary therapist and substance abuse case manager, who will help guide each client through a variety of therapeutic modalities in order to help them learn how to manage their addiction(s) and co-occurring disorder symptoms and tendencies in a positive and healthy manner while staying sober.
